Reading HP-UX (hfs) MO disk with RH 9.0!!

Hi guys,

I wonder if I can read MO disk mounted on a hfs filesystem that I created from a 10.20 HP-UX box??? Can I do it with RH 9.0 box, or should I go with an earlier distro or kernel version of Linux?

I can mount it... I get some errors that saying it is not the good filesystem type and the bloksize is not good, I don't remember the block size I puted on the MO... It seems that the hfs that RH 9.0 can read is the MAC hfs. Anybody have another idea???

Yes, the hfs that linux reads is MAC hfs. I think linux cannot read hp-ux hfs.
I think you should mount the MO disk on an hp-ux machine and read it copying the files to the linux box or through nfs.

Is that only a kernel version matters??? can I downgrade the kernel version???

Hello Jonathan,

sorry looks like there is simply no HP-UX hfs driver for Linux. Your best bet is to read the MOs back on an hp box.
