Reading and restoring a backup tape created on HP BOX to a LINUX box

Hi,

Just wanted to know whether it is possible to restore a backup tape created on HP box to a Linux (RH) box.

Backup is taken using cpio or tar command.

Thanks in advance

Yes, both commands create "standard" files that can be transported to other systems.
Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?
