Red Hat 7.2 Linux gives error" Install exited abnormally"
Hi Gurus,
I was trying to install Red Hat 7.2 on Compaq Proliant DL 320 G1 server. To start with in BIOS i chose my OS type as "Linux". Then continued with the Smartstart 5.40 installation. IN it's manula installation i chose my OS as linux again. After it's completion I rebooted with the Red Hat CD. The Installation of linux was 70 % complete but then during installaion of networking applications the Install exited abnormally.
Am i doing something wrong. The checklist says 7.2 is supported on Compaq DL 320 G1 scsi.
Any suggestion would be appreciated
Thanks in advance
Waller

Re: Red Hat 7.2 Linux gives error" Install exited abnormally"
1) Try the installation with the BIOS in default state. Unless there is a specific note telling you to mess with the BIOS don't
2) Try Red Hat 7.3 Its stable, been around forever and fixes bugs in 7.2
You bay get advised to Run Red Hat 9. I have it running on a my backup webhosting server, and it shows signs of bloatware and the upgrades are kind of rought on the ftp server, httpd server and I still can't get sendmail to work the way it worked with Red Hat 7.3
3) Is it possible you have an unsupported NIC card in there?
