I recently purchased and installed Red Hat 9. I need to extend several of the file systems. I would like to dynamically extend each of the file systems without taking them off line (That is like HP UX Product "Advance Online JFS"...nice product). How can extend a file system while online? Is there a feature within Red Hat 9 to extend file systems dynamically? Is there a good "How To" document in the ITRC outlining LVM functions (that is, such as extending and reducing file systems....like HPUX LVM)? Thanks

Re: Red Hat 9: Extending File Systems
Hello!
If you install the RH using LVM then
you have commands like in OnlineJFS
if you installed use standart partitions
way and ext3 fs then you have problem to
do it.
You can made search for tools that extand
ext3 partitions but they experemental and
could be that you will lost data.
