Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, 64-bit - Install time
How long are you giving yourself to install Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, 64-bit on HP Blades for example...
BL680c.... I have 6 of them to do.... They are enclosed in a HP BLc7000 enclosure...
Can ignite be used for this...

I've managed to do the whole thing in under 15 minutes on really fast hardware.
Leave an hour as you will need to make some human decisions.
You can not use Ignite.
if the systems are similar you can use one systems's kick start file to configure the subsequent systems.
/root/anaconda-ks.cfg

Kick start is the red hat equivalent to Ignite but contains no real backup capacity.

Best answer is it all depends.....
How are you installing? What packages are you installing?
Media installs are slower than over the network.
I can do a very basic RHEL5 install over the network using a kickstart file in about 15 minutes. Full installs take about 45 minutes. Using either a DVD drive attached to the enclosure, or the iLO Virtual Media applet take longer.
