Red hat 9 and presario 2100

I have a problem when i try to install lines red hat 9 in my laptop (presario 2100). It freezes at the beginnig of the instalation. Any possible cause for this problem?

Pleas give some more information about your hardware and the exact error message it prints before it freezes.

Hello!

It may be problem with your HD,
or driver to it or for the controler.
But you need to give more info.

There's at least three solutions to this. All three worked on my system. I am now running RedHat 9 on it. Just do one of three options below:

1. Go into bios and disable "Legacy USB Support". It's under "system devices".

...or...

2. Plug in a USB keyboard before powering on and use it.

...or...

3. Get the boxed CD's. They don't have the media check on there and work fine. My ISO image burned CDs worked fine on another system and checked out so it wasn't a case of a bad image or a bad burn causing problems.


My Compaq laptop is a 2135 model, specifically a Compaq Presario 2135US .

There's probably more info on getting video setup elsewhere at this board.
