Re: RedHat LINUX on Proliant - Supported or Not?!
Thanks for all of the responses. I have finally spoken with HP representatives (we are now a "Named Account") to let them know our frustration.
As far as support goes - no level of support or company seems to be able to fix this. Indeed, even the latest PSP has issues (we are experiencing that one too): http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?admit=716493758+1100782924360+28353475&threadId=727277
More and more I am discovering issues with the LINUX O/S - "this feature is not available on LINUX", "this product does not work with AS", etc. It could be just a maturity thing, but the TCO (from a systems management perspective) just doesn't to be very good.
On the positive side, we don't seem to have any of these issues on our Windows platforms (HP SIM, VCA, etc. works pretty well).
