Refreshing inetd

Hi Friends,
I plan to make changes to inetd configuration file. After making changes, am i required to refresh the inetd file so that the new configuration gets reflected or it will detect it. Stopping/Starting inetd will be the only option to do this? What will be affected when i stop/start inetd

Thanks.

Re: Refreshing inetd

Hi,

# inetd -c
from the man inetd

Force the current inetd to reread the /etc/inetd.conf.

Re: Refreshing inetd

Hi Ashish:

THe 'inetd' daemon is the "internet daemon", invoking internet services as necessary. The best way to refresh (re-read) a changed configuration is to simply do:

# inetd -c

Regards!
