Regarding HP-UX 11.23 OE release date.

Hi,
I have installed HP-UX 11.23 June 2008 and Sept 2008 but when I check the OE release date it shows me December 07 ..?
I am a bit puzzled what is happening ? Can any one help me out of it as in install media its June 2008 and Sept 2008 but why its showing Dec 07 in OE.

# swlist | grep -i oe
HPUX11i-OE-MC B.11.23.0712 HP-UX Mission Critical Operating Environment Component

The Dec 2007 is in fact the latest release, but newer patch bundles are available.

Thanks for the comment, so you mean to say that with June 2008 and Sept 2008 we have latest Patches but it will still show OE as Dec 07 ?

When we install OS for a perticular relise at that time QPK bundles are also install, upgreade baseline patch and then see the difference.

Hi,

No big changes in 11.23 OE media after December 2007 except for
I/O, Storage Driver and Ignite-UX updates. No changes in the
depot version for HPUX11i-OE (FOE), HPUX11i-OE-Ent (EOE) and
HPUX11i-OE-MC (MCOE) respectively. Therefore you still see
B.11.23.0712 for your MCOE bundle.

Release date which is on the original media is December 2007.

You have installed the media and has been updated with a September 2008 QPK, which is the binary equivalent of a cold install.
