Relinking Oracle 8.0.5 on HPUX10.20 after GR patch DEC 2001

I am trying ( at this moment) to relink but:
1) as user oracle (or database owner)
cd to $ORACLE_HOME/bin
mkdir orig
mv oracle svrmgrl sqlplus orig/
cd ${ORACLE_HOME}/svrmgr/lib
make -f ins_svrmgr.mk svrmgrl

the make above stopped, because the following:
[wnfp] /oracle/appl/oracle/product/8.0.5/svrmgr/lib >make -f ins_svmrgr.mk sv>
Make: Cannot open ins_svmrgr.mk. Stop.

mv svrmgrl ${ORACLE_HOME}/bin/
cd ${ORACLE_HOME}/rdbms/lib
make -f ins_rdbms.mk oracle
Then after trying the net make UC says:
Make: Don't know how to make oracle. Stop.

Please help me out if anyone knows a workaround

Have you done an ls -l in the svrmgr/lib directory to make sure that the .mk file exists and has read permission?
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

I did a ls -l

first the mk file had perms like the env_svrmgr.mknv_

[wnfp] /oracle/appl/oracle/product/8.0.5/svrmgr/lib >ls -l
total 30
-rw-r--r-- 1 oracle dba 12381 Feb 17 1999 env_svrmgr.mk
-rwxrwxrwx 1 oracle dba 1239 Feb 17 1999 ins_svrmgr.mk

Also tried as root with the same result.

We are on a trusted system , any clue ?

I,ve got the answer:

Never NEVER do a su - oracle while trying to
a make on oracle.

Simply login as oracle user solves the issue.
