Remote Desktop sharing on Linux

Experts,
I hope you know about the remote desk top sharing in Windows using Netmeeting. (You can see the desktop of a remote computer and work on that computer from your desktop). Is there a program in Linux like that? I have been told of vnc, but as I understand it creates a new window from the remote computer. I would like to get a program that works like the net meeting of Windows.
Help will be appreciated..
Regards

Try x0rfbserver. It's a VNC server that works on top of a running X-Server. I couldn't find its homepage but it's present at a number of distributions, including Mandrake and probably SuSE.

Looking at fr2.rpmfind.net, I've noticed that it's definetely present in Mandrake and Conectiva distributions. It's also on PowerTools RPM's of RH 7.1.

Hi,

xhost would allow you to do this as well.

Thanks,
