Run time error *** glibc detected *** malloc(): memory corruption: on Linux
Hi,
I'm getting the following error on RHEL4 when I'm executing my binary.
*** glibc detected *** malloc(): memory corruption: 0x081b3378 ***
Earlier I was not getting this kind of error but suddenly I started getting this error. I'm executing this binary on opteron server.
Regards,
Sumanth

Re: Run time error *** glibc detected *** malloc(): memory corruption: on Linux
Shalom Sumanth,
So.
What changed?
The application?
The system was patched?
Disk problem and the binary got corrupted?
This is with the small amount of information given a detective story.
Try putting the error code into google.

Re: Run time error *** glibc detected *** malloc(): memory corruption: on Linux
can't believe this error just showed up out of nowhere if all was working properly before.
either there was an upgrade or a confid change in one of the involved components.
