SDX-400C tapedrive problems

Hello,
I have a Proliant ML350 server with a SDX-400C tapedrive.
I try to use this drive with mt and tar but get freezes when i try to erase tapes or try to rewind.
When putting two archives on the tape, only one is there.
Also mt -f /tape tell allways says it is at block 0...

To make things short, it does not really work.

Only one question to you: Did you install the insight manager agents on your system. I have the same problem and I solved it with new agents (6.10 or above).

I do not have Insight Manager installed at all. I am downloading it now but i have serious doubts that is going to fix the drive.
Someone told me they have this kind of trouble with each and every HP tapedrive of that type...
