it shows the two hardware raid luns as degraded but all my checks show as fine with no problems.
can someone tell me what the hell this stupid web interface thinks it is checking to say that the disks are degraded.
when i go in under the tools section ( i.e. bits of sam) it tells me the disks are ok but on home screen they still say degraded, any ideas gratefully recieved.
regards
andrew

Re: SMH Disks show degraded
the question is :
do you have a HW raid or LVM mirror on the disks.
if its a HW raid you have for example 4 physical disk but the system see only 2 disks.
if you have a LVM mirroring, with 4 physical disk you will see 4 disk. So if this is you case run
grep EMS /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log
ioscan -fn | grep NO_HW.

Solutionok the HW raid presnet the bundle of disk ajs a 2 logial disk, so the HP-UX don;t care about the HW layout, but SMH check all units on the HW layout.
which version of HP-UX is there 11.31 ???
check this link : its about how to check HW raid status on HP-UX, if your model hase this disks

Re: SMH Disks show degraded
Hi Andrew,
Please check if you have recived any events in /var/opt/resmon/log/event.log
or in SMH Tools>Event viewer>
if you have any critical events, then you will see the status of the disks as degraded.
Thanks
Shiv
