Samba and file disappearing

Hello,

I'm using Samba 3.0.5 (throught a CIF install)and I works more or less pretty fine.
However recently I have face something very strange : in some directory file are disappering.
When somebody create a file or copy it into this directory, the samba shares doesn't present the update and show the old file listing. More strange by renaming one file the directory contains appears againg and is updated ! and when I give it his old name I got the bugged directory listing again ...

Could someone help me

thnaks

Hi Lutz,

seems to me that you don't actually have mounted directory, only "cashed" information is displayed.

Try to umount dir and restart smb server
/etc/init.d/smb stop/start

Then try copy or rename again and check logs in /var/log/samba/

and smbstatus command
