Seeking UNIX Tech Tips Data for Classic UNIX Fortune or Fish App
Some of you probly remember that classic UNIX Fortune program on the old BSD timeshares. Does anyone have a collection of datafiles that contains UNIX techtips? Or does anyone know how to format the files so I can create my own?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Hakuna Matata.

Hi,
It uses a newline character followed by '%%' or just '%'.
Take a look at this URL which explains it:

And as for the tech tips data to use for the fortune program, you could probably mine some good answers from the forums here.
I would pay good money just to get a fortune file of Bill Hassell's wisdom. :)

Re: Seeking UNIX Tech Tips Data for Classic UNIX Fortune or Fish App
When you do your make of fortune, make sure that you include the undocumented -o option. -o instructs fortune to output obscene instructions --- I'm not making this up.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.
