I have installed Shared X (from the enware2 bundle) on an HP Visualize B180L. The icon appears on the desktop, but when we click on it, it doesn't launch SharedX GUI.
Apparently, the remsh command "remsh station_name SharedX" fails. I think the SharedX extension is not loaded in the station X server.
How can I correct this?
TIA,
Jerome

Re: SharedX on Visualize B180L Workstations
Could be a lot of different things.
HP-UX 10.20 or 11 ?
Using MPower or Visualize Conference ?
I didn't know that SharedX was a part of Enware. HP stopped supporting MPower in June 99.
Try using the command line so you can see any errors instead of the GUI icon.
Good Luck!

Re: SharedX on Visualize B180L Workstations
It's HP-UX 11.
I have installed the whole Product B4474FA "HP Netstation Software" from "HP CD applications". This product contains "ENWARE X Station Software" and "HP Netstation Software".
In this configuration, CDE launches /opt/hpxt/enware2/bin/hpxt.SharedX
From the command line, the error is:
sh: SharedX: not found
showing that SharedX extension is not installed.
Do hpxt utilities work with X terminals only? What do I have to install on a workstation?
TIA, Jerome

Solution
try installing the correct s/w : you need to install the mpower web product from the applications CD's .. this is for graphics workstations.
The s/w you installed is designed for specific use by hp xterminals only.
NB I'd suggest swremoving enware first before installing mpowerweb.
