Still no video memory cfg in omnibook 510 BIOS update 1.2

This is just a confirmation that the latest HP Omnibook BIOS update (to FB.M1.20/FP.M2.10)
in http://h20004.www2.hp.com/keeper_rnotes/bsdmatrix/matrix77989.html
released a few weeks ago does not include a setting to choose how much video memory should be reserved.

Thus, still no luck with XFree 4.2 or Linux.

Since the far easiest way to allow us to user our Omnibook 510's in Linux would be the BIOS upgrade that just allows selecting the reserved video memory, I can't fathom why HP does not fix this.

Just stating that HP does not support Linux does not sound very convincing considering I got my Omnibook from the HP Bazaar spring camp 2002 with only Linux pre-installed...

Do not reply to this unless you are with HP or have a solution on how to bypass the hard-coded memory reservation amount.

I managed to bypass the hard-coded video memory limit in HP Omnibook 510.

I got the HP Omnibook 510 with Debian GNU/Linux "woody" working in 16 & 24 bit modes (resolution 1024x768) with the instructions from Jon Gans website: http://www.jongans.com/gateway1450.html

It works.
With new BIOS 1.42 and with XFree 4.3, there is no problem to have a full graphical environment.
You must use i810 native module.
You dont need to use i830-16bit.C program.
