Strange CPU frequency

Hi export,

My cpu is AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3000+
should 1800Mhz. Motherboard is EPOX-9nda3j.
AMD 64 3000+ frequency shows 1800MHz under windows XP/2000, however ,frequency shows 1000MHz under SuSE linux professional 9.2 64bit. WHY?

The application checking the data is probably not written correctly.

This is pretty common.

Windows figure is obviously right.

You probably have better things to do than worry about this. If the hardware came with a diag disk boot into that and allay your concerns.
