SolutionThank you all.
SEP, You're not alone in thinking that someone else knows a ton more than self. I feel that way every day.
A few months back, there was a big rush of the top 5 people (probably more) to get points (not sure what spurred it on). I was always thinking "My goodness, that Masanarii guy knows so much!" or "How did Sivakumar understand what that question meant", and the 5 (Kodjo, SivaKumar, Masanari, Albert and myself) were vying for points in the top 5.
I think the only reason I ended up on top is because I kept coming back. I enjoy the challenge of solving problems, even if they aren't my own.
In the other thread you pointed to, you say that the rewards ratio is low in here. I agree, it is, but when you do get 8 or 10 points, you feel really great (ok, so I'm a little bit shallow :P). I hope that others will soon knock me off my perch (and at the rate you are going SEP, you'll be here soon!), and that the competition will continue!
There are a lot of great people in these forums now, and the community is continually growing, and the knoweledge base is simply outstounding these days. As I joked in another thread, there's barely any questions I get to answer these days, someone else has usually already given the solution I'd say by the time I sit down at the forums.
I do know that I'm still learning things every day, and am greatful to others in this group who have different histories and experiences and points of view. The variety is truely eye opening, showing the wide range of possibilities that are out there.
So once again, thank you everybody here.
Jerome, I hope so. It's a slow rise though! You'll have your pointy-hat soon too ;)
U.SivaKumar, My thanks to you also. Your contributions here are invaluable.
Pete, heh. Don't know about 'guru'. Am still learning every day.. Besies, I'm still just a kid ;P Much too young for 'guru' status yet! (only 26)
Gary, yea, we do. Hopefully it will continue to grow, with the help of people like yourself.
Ok, now I'm gonna go find a corner to hide in and be all embarrased :P *hide*hide*

Re: Stuart Brown Deserves double congrats.
HP-UX points are much easier, plus I'm better at it.
I am honored to know you and perhaps together we can make this little portion of the community a little better.
I appreciated your message that prompted juno to put me on the leader board.
Be well, never stop learning.

Re: Stuart Brown Deserves double congrats.
I have found that no of point givers on HP is more than in the Linux Forum. And with all that you top the Linux Forum points is a great acheivement.
Welcome to Hogwarts. Many congratulations and looking forward to learn more from you.
Keep going.
Cheers

Re: Stuart Brown Deserves double congrats.
I hope this forum will get famous in Linux world, I'm promoting it quite often...
trouble is that I'm a teacher, so my student keep sending SOS mails directly to my box instead of posting here...
I agree with you Stuart, here points are a real reward (try networking forum, you'll love 1 point reward :]]), when I try to answer a few HP UX stuff I know, I can never be at first to do so, questions are answered before I even can read them...
(plz 0 for this).

Re: Stuart Brown Deserves double congrats.
Jsut add an auto reply to your students or a signature that says something like this:
If you want a fast answer.
If you want an answer for someone who will bang their head on the wall until your problem is solved.
post your question to http://itrc.hp.com forums.
Just remember to provide a lot of details.

Re: Stuart Brown Deserves double congrats.
I'll do it. Even if I know that they'll complain that they do not speak english well enough... like Delvalle, who is one of my students, and finally sent me mail in french.
But the idea of auto-reply is brilliant ! You would deserve a bunny for this (I'll post a question soon, watch me !), so they'll be compeled to use it.
Tks for that.
