Suse 8 64 bit on Rx2620 itanium question
Hi
I just installed the suse 8 64 bit for itanium however, when i login i can getthe usb mouse to work. am i missing some device drive to enable the usb mouse as i can use the keyboard. also to note, this is not a direct attach mouse host and keyboard, im using an avocent dongle to connect to this host.
has anybody ever seen this issue.

Re: Suse 8 64 bit on Rx2620 itanium question
Eddie,
Update the versions of usb rpm's.
There were major changes and additions to usb support in late 2002 timeframe. It was quite common to see several devices not recognized or used without the updated rpm's.
You can use YOU or Red Carpet to grab the updates.

Reality check,
I'd try a different USB mouse, something very basic and generic. A mouse that uses the native usb mouse drivers would probably do the trick.

Re: Suse 8 64 bit on Rx2620 itanium question
that solved the mouse problem. however, now i try and configure the eth0 and eth2 lan interfaces and i get the following error message :
eth0 could not configure valid interface name eth0
(Same for eth1)
Why do i get this and how do i fix it ?
