Suse will not boot on HP Proliant ML110 G5 Server
I have updated the Bios on the computer to the latest version (10/25/10). I then installed Suse 12.2 and got the disk to create a new partition table. With everything else I pretty much took the defaults.
When the system tries to boot I get the message:
Error No active partition
Operating System not found
The computer is using a SATA Raid configuration. When I use a Red Hat installation, the system boots correctly.
Thanks in advance

Re: Suse will not boot on HP Proliant ML110 G5 Server
To run OpenSuSE on thiss ytem you will need to change from SATA RAID mode to plain SATA mode. The RAID controller in this system requires a special RAID driver that is only available for RHEL 4/5 and SLES 9/10. I think OpenSuSE tries to use a generic RAID driver that doesn't work with this controller. Normally without the driver the OS will see the disks as two seperate drives even when RAID mode is selected (probably what you were seeing with Red Hat)
