Dear Macho,

Is there any firewal, that you have to cross ?

check the telnet service from the server itself using

#telnet 127.0.0.1

Re: Telnet is very Slow

telnet ip_address
telnet host_name

Which is fast?? May be name resolution is problem. Do you use dns for host resolution?? How does resolv.conf look like??

Re: Telnet is very Slow

Please make sure you defined DNS server in both your server and workstation. Also you have to check your DNS server and make sure you are defined reverse zone and PTR records correctly.

+1 - your client's IP should be in DNS.
As quick&dirty workaround you can add client's hostname/address to /etc/hosts on ftp server

Dear All;

I managed to solved the problem. I have to modify some files into /etc/nsswitch.conf.

Thank you very much for all you support.
