Time got changed on HP-UX 11.31 system

HI,

we have 2 Hp unix servers 1 is installed with SAP application and other is installed with Oracle database.

suddenly yesterday i got error in sap application , saying there is long time differnce between applciation and database.

when i check in applciation server OS there was time differnce of 40 minutes from database server.

i had verified system logs in OS but i didnt find any errors related to time change. 

can some one help me what may be the root cause for this error(long time differnce between applciation and database).

My first guess would be that someone with root access issued the date command to change the time.  Check the shell history file for root and see if you see a 'date' command/

Do you have NTP installed?

You might want to look at syslog or other logfiles for a 40 min change.

NTP is not configured in my UNIX systems.

Date and time running individual in all my unix systems.

can you help me to find the root cause for time change.

i didnt see any logs related to time change in system logs.

Hello,

Can you check MP logs ?

" MP> --> CM -> SL "

and check show log if describe some specific HW change .

You can also check date using ILO, and set it :

HP ILo Guide                                               [ Page 87 ]

you may also monitor change with webmin if it's implemented on your plateform, this may help to know when time change is done and why.
