Trying to load secure Path 3.0 for linux 7.1 with MAS100 storage
Hi
I trying to load secure Path 3.0 for linux 7.1 with MAS100 storage but get the following error below. I need to get the kernel rpm for an i686 machine so i can load the SMP kernel
and then install this Secure Path. My question are where can i locate this build as i dont have the linux cd's and how do i load and install it so SP doe not prompt me for this anymore.
[root@cp RPM]# rpm -i Secure-Path-3.0-8.0.noarch.rpm
SMP KERNEL must be loaded to install this kit.
error: execution of %pre scriptlet from Secure-Path-3.0-8.0 failed, exit status 255
error: install: %pre scriptlet failed (2), skipping Secure-Path-3.0-8.0
[root@cp RPM]#

Re: Trying to load secure Path 3.0 for linux 7.1 with MAS100 storage
You can download the smp kernel from http://www.redhat.com
You'll need to install it, and configure GRUB to boot off of it.
Then you can do your isntall.
If you can work it in, you might do a customized upgrade to 7.3 which is more stable. You can do this installation off ftp, there are instructions on the Red Hat site.
If you are familiar with rawrite utility, you can tell it to use the netboot.img instead of the regular .img file, that will get you ready to install over the web.
