Tuning Oracle DB action list ???

I know that experince can not be replaced here, but does anyuone knows of any papers out there that covers the basic concept of Oracle tuning ? In particular, oracle running on hpux 11 64 bit !!!

Hi,

if you are an Oracle customer with an active support contract, you can register to Metalink.
The metalink web site will give you tons of info.
(In a way the Metalink site is the equivalent of the ITRC site for HP).

The first post was really helpful. Let me take a look at metalink to see if they have something similar.

Now, I am looking for steps to achieve each point and WHY !! It is important to understand why I am changing something !!!!
