Two questions.

How do i find out what is the version of oracle i run? Also do anyone know what is the EOSL on 8.1.7.4?

Hi,

you could have a look into the alertlog. It should be printed during startup.
What hardware/os 32/64 bit version do you have?

As root, you should be able to run tnsping:

tnsping

From above - looks like oracle 9.2...
