UUCP home directory
Hi all ,
This is a query about uucp.
I saw in a system the user uucp and nuucp having the home directory /var/spool/uucppublic. and this directory is writable by others.
I dont know much about uucp. Kidly let me know if these permission is correct.

Re: UUCP home directory
Hi Sooraj,
uucp is unix to unix copy protocol and is using to copy files from one server to another.
Now a days this protocol is using very rarely. If you check in your passwd file or run the id command you can find out that userid uucp and nuucp.
If you are not using this you can lock or delete this userid's as audit request and security concern we are normaly doing this.
Thanks and Regards,
Manoj K
