Unable to Access Internet from the HP UX Server.

Dear All,

Please help me in this case...
Here I have 1 hp ux server and from that server I am not able to access Internet.

Already made all the entry in the /etc/resolv.conf file.

From nslokup and dig command, it is resolving the IP address of the Internet server name..like www.google.com, www.yahoo.com

But when I am trying to ping these servers, its not pinging and accessing from the Mozilla or Firefox and I am not able to access these sites...

I want to access only one site www.clickatell.com from the hpux server for sending SMS.

From all windows clients and all windows serves I can acces the interbet and all the sites...

Please help me...solve this problem!!!

Re: Unable to Access Internet from the HP UX Server.

"dig" command in hp-ux?

Do you have any proxy or firewall in your network?

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

No...Here we are not using proxy!
For accessing internet...all machines...we are putting the DNS Name and Default gateway....

Yes dig and nslookup..both are working in HP UX!!

Re: Unable to Access Internet from the HP UX Server.

If you have double checked your gateway and netmask settings already, use "traceroute" and compare the results with a working system, e.g. "tracert" in windows client.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Unable to Access Internet from the HP UX Server.

hi,

ask the network administrator if this machine is able to comunicate outside to the internet.

check the rooting ( default GW ) and /etc/reslov.conf ( /etc/nssswitch.conf )

Re: Unable to Access Internet from the HP UX Server.

Dear All,

Thanks for ur all reply!!!!

I solved the problem....
Its confirmed that, this was only due to CISCO VLAN...from this VLAN...any server is not able to ping ..the Internet Domain names...

Thanks guy!!!
