Unable to connect to windows 2008 file share

We migrated our file share cluster from windows 2003 to windows 2008. Prior to the move, HPUX server were able to cifsmount and cifslogin and have full access to the windows file shares. Now we are able to perform a cifsmount, cifslogin looks like it works, but, when you do a bdf, we get an I/O error. Management chose to purchase software update support but not technical support. Any help would be greatly appreciated and is much needed.

Re: Unable to connect to windows 2008 file share

I do not know the answer but somethoughts.

Does your installed version of the CIFS Client on your HPUX server support Windows2008 shares ?

I would start there.( maybe a patch, maybe a new version, maybe not supported at all, yet ? )

Re: Unable to connect to windows 2008 file share

We have the latest CIFS client, server and patches installed. We just got it working on a standalone windows 2008 server, but will not work on the cluster. We had to enable IPv6 to allow smboverIP...

Re: Unable to connect to windows 2008 file share

After working with support, Microsoft found a bug in windows 2008 clustering. They are going to release a hotfix.

Microsoft hotfix will take care of this.
