Upgrade RAM for RAC database on HP-UX Itanium .

Hi everyone,

      Recentlry a client  upgrdae RAM from 14 GB to 64 GB  for Oracle RAC database 10gR2 and ask me to tune parameters for this database . We are as DBA configure mainly SGA_TARGET and SGA_MAX_SIZE and PGA . I just curious about HP-UX is it need how much RAM in this case ? or shall I gave 85% for Database and 15% for HP-UX . From DB point of view that is Ok . But I need your recommondation to make sure the client get complete benefit from this expantion ?

What else is the system used for?  You may want to give this delta 50 Gb all to Oracle if you weren't going to add more applications.

Then you might as well give it all to Oracle.  Unless multiple databases and each wants a separate SGA?
