Simpler Navigation for Servers and Operating Systems - Please Update Your Bookmarks
Completed: a much simpler Servers and Operating Systems section of the Community. We combined many of the older boards, so you won't have to click through so many levels to get at the information you need. Check the consolidated boards here as many sub-forums are now single boards.
If you have bookmarked forums or discussion boards in Servers and Operating Systems, we suggest you check and update them as needed.

Re: Upgrade from Oracle to

According to the Oracle site there are no new patches necessary from Release 3 to Release 4.

System requirements (kernel paramaters, os level, memory and patches) are part of the release notes found in the documentation section of
"Downtime is a Crime."

Re: Upgrade from Oracle to

I have not applied any OS patches during the release level upgrade.Mostly only a version level upgrade would require.

It is not required.

Re: Upgrade from Oracle to

as long as you already have installed the required patches for, it should be okay to install that patchset

PHSS_21947 (ld(1) and linker tools cumulative patch)
PHNE_20316 (Cumulative STREAMS Patch)
PHKL_21392 (VxFS performance, hang, icache DPFs)
PHKL_22145 (signal, threads, spinlock, scheduler, IDS)
PHKL_22266 (LVM Cumulative Patch)

hope this helps!
