Video configuration for RH 9 and Presario 2500

Hi !

Is there anybody who have well configured his RedHat 9 on a Presario 2500 (Presario 2528EA to be more exact) ? I've got a Radeon 7500 Mobile.

This card is supported, look at :
http://www.redhat.com/software/linux/technical/hcl/

Let it autodetect, if it doesn't work use the radeon 7500, with standard flat laptop 1024*768 screen selection.

I do not remember the exact name, but on installing, when probing for your video, you can let the system autodeetc, or, if it doesn't work, which seems to be your case, choose by yourself : first the video card, then the screen type. In the screen list, you have something like default flat screen for laptop, or something like that (you'll recognize it on installing !), choose the 1024*768 version, and it'll go !

I've found it and it works well. The only bad thing is that we can't use the 3D mode ! But may be you have a solution ;-)

3d is not the same libs on Linux, but OpenGl is fully implemented.
You should get 3D effect in some progs, but not all of them...
This world is (still) not perfect...
Glad it works. Pls assign points if it was usefull, my dream is to have a new hat... ;-)
