What happens if Oracle Relink Not Done?

I recently applied a HP-UX 10.20 LibC patch on a server with Oracle 8.0.x databases. I did not perform an Oracle relink. The databases are started and users are accessing. Will anything happen because the databases were Not relinked after the patch install?

In this case, no. The shared libraries are still compatible and all symbols could be resolved at run-time. The general failure that occurs is that an executable cannot start because not all symbols can be fully resolved.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.
