Hi,
Find any of other clients location where you can find HPUX core/OS CD's or ask any of your friend to get it for you. Unless and untill you manage to get them, you won't be able to install. I have never seen OS dowloadable from any site of HP.

You never used to be able to, but I came across this a few days back. Certainly worthwhile looking into.

Two ways I know of:

1) Buy a HP-UX server/workstation. The right to use license is transferred with a copy of the OS. Specify a copy of the media with the order.

2) Get a software contract. Then you can order the OS in the SUM link on the itrc main page.

Re: Where can i get a copy of HP-UX

HP ships a license to use HP-UX with every HP 9000 system. Unfortunately, the original media (just like PCs) is usually lost or thrown away. With used machines, the right to use the original OS remains with the machine but legally you must run the original OS shipped with the machine. HP will sell you a new license to use HP-UX along with a CDROM, one copy is required for each machine. It is likely that the license and media will cost more than the workstations.

perhaps you should go dumpster diving to get your hands on 'free' hpux cd's. or else you could ask a friend who has access to give you the old cd's they are no longer using.

Not much use to you in Canada but the HP Users Group in the UK do what they call a "Hobbiest" licence for about ├В┬г50 which I assume gets you CD's etc.

Maybe theres a Canadian User Group
