Who can tell me the HP-UX patch for SYBASE ASE 11 BugID 299039?
There are some errors in sybase logfile as following:
*******************************************
00:00000:00002:2005/07/26 04:46:46.56 kernel nopen: setsockopt, Interrupted system call
00:00000:00002:2005/07/26 04:46:46.57 server Error: 1605, Severity: 21, State:1
00:00000:00002:2005/07/26 04:46:46.57 server Failed to open virtual socket for new connections
*******************************************
We found that it is a bug of sybase. BUT one sybase engineer tell us if we patch HP-UX for TCP IP SOCKET LEAK can also resolve this problem.
Bug Description:
EBFID BugID Description
11096 299039 On HP-UX platform, setsockopt(), accept() and
connect() system calls may be interrupted by a
signal and fail. ASE treats EINTR as unrecoverable
error leading to the connection being aborted by
the network handler. ASE may report "nopen:
accept, Interupted system call" in the errorlog
leading to 1605 error.
Thanks.

Re: Who can tell me the HP-UX patch for SYBASE ASE 11 BugID 299039?
Have you asked this question of Sybase?
Most of the ionfo I can find says this is actually fixed in ASE12.x of Sybase, rather than an HP patch.
Failing that, you may want to install the latest ARPA/Streams/Lan patches for teh version of HP-UX you are running

Going to the Patch Database ( http://www2.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/search.do?BC=patch.breadcrumb.main|&pageContextName=hpux::: ) and searching on TCP IP SOCKET LEAK gave me a list of 19 patches for 11.11. I would suggest you do the same thing for whatever release you're running and see what you get.

Re: Who can tell me the HP-UX patch for SYBASE ASE 11 BugID 299039?
Looking at this again, it appears it's a Sybase bug which was fixed by EBFID 11096.
According to the Sybase Site:
"The list of fixes represent changes included after the 12.0 ASE Release.
For product changes up to 12.0, please refer to the CPR and SPR files
included in the /install/SPR directory in the 12.0 release directory."
So correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears Sybase fixed it in their release, not HP via a patch.
