Windows XP recovery disks

I recently purchased a HP 760n home PC from Circuit City. I was concerned that there was no Windows XP recovery (or install) disks boxed with the new computer. I went back to Circuit City and asked why it wasn't there. They said that HP no longer ships any Windows disks with their computers!!

I hope that is not correct. I need to know how to get the Windows media.

Re: Windows XP recovery disks

I have the same problem mitch! I have just bought a new pavilion 7965 from pc world, and like you where are the windows xp discs. Really all we are getting for our money is a copy on our computers of the real thing. They are not doing us any favors and copies are not legal as we keep hearing all the time.
So come on companies WE WANT THE REAL THING AND NOT COPIES!!! (Mandy)

Re: Windows XP recovery disks

I bought a laptop pavilion
zt1190 on feb 16. It came
with recovery disks. I would
prefer install disks because the
recovery disks do not permit
repartitioning. I do not know
how to get install disks.

There is another long,long
thread here somewhere
regarding recovery disks.
