Re: Windows vista
Dowload a compatible Audio software for your model from HP site and install it.

Re: Windows vista
From what I heard, Vista needs 1 GB of RAM and a not of the hardware sold before its release claiming to be Vista capable, can not use important features.
All in all a waste of money in my opinion.
You need drivers from your hardware vendor, until then you will hear nothing, as in nada, nichivo, clom(Transliterated Hebrew).
You might also benefit from reading where you are posting. HP-UX is a Unix OS, and a real OS for that matter. Posting to the Windows forums might get you a link to a driver.
Have fun.

Re: Windows vista
Running windows vista with 512 MB of RAM is really not recommended.
Microsoft recommends 1 GB minimum and we all know that we need to add a further 512 MB to what Microsoft sets as minimum.
I would prefer to run Win Xp with the setup you have.
anyway, have a look at:
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/audio/default.mspx
and
http://neosmart.net/blog/2006/vista-sound-drivers/
good luck!
kind regards

Re: Windows vista
I hate to say this, but I have to agree with Steven on this. Windows Vista is apparently a HUGE waste of time and money at this stage. The only people that have laptops that can handle it correctly right now are the ones that have invested approx $1500 - $3000+ USD to get the top of the line with multi-processors, large amounts of RAM and 256 Meg (or more) DEDICATED VRAM.
My experience with anything less (ANY amount of shared video RAM, for example) has been worse than disappointing.
I think I will close by modifying Yogeeraj's first sentence:
Running Winblows Vista {snip} is really not recommended.
Of course, this is simply my opinion and experience. Your mileage my vary..

Re: Windows vista
I agree with Steven and John, but if this is not your only computer and you have time to experiment with Vista, it is not very expensive hobby.

Re: Windows vista
Required to be able to run Vista with all features available: (Aero, Glass, etc.)
1 GB RAM
128 MB Video RAM
1.5 GHz Processor
40 GB drive
( Note - I've had to create the Vista Hardware purchase Standard for my University.)
It will run on 512MB RAM....... but NOT very well. :-) XP would be a better choice at this point though.
For audio drivers try the following HP link, and remember to select your perferred language:
