Xserver issue
X server: Error in /etc/X11/X0screens (line 612)
Device name invalid or missing after keyword "Screen".
X server: Will try default "/dev/crt"
Failure to open default device file `/dev/crt`.
Please either specify the proper device filename in
your /etc/X11/X0screens file or fix `/dev/crt`. This filename is either
non-existent or is not a character special file.
Fatal server error:
connection to :0.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown).
What could be the problem?
Do i need to re-install display driver?

Re: Xserver issue
Does your HP-UX system even *have* a graphical display?
(Most server systems don't have it. To use X applications remotely, you don't need to run Xserver on the remote system: you'll only need it on your local workstation = the system that actually displays things to you.)
Is it a workstation or a server?
Please run these commands and show their output:
model
ioscan -fnCgraphics
grep ^Screen /etc/X11/X0screens
MK

Re: Xserver issue
Hi,
I think a search in this forum would have helped you.

Does /dev/crt exist?
Then remove it:
# rm /dev/crt*
Create it:
# insf -ev
Reboot your ws.
Else give us more informations:
Which os?
Which ws?
Which graphics card?
