Y2k Core Patch Install

Is it odd that my system did not reboot after the
core patch install?

Re: Y2k Core Patch Install

It really depends on which patches were applied. Command (PHCO) and Subsytem
(PHSS)patches usually do not require a reboot. Networking (PHNE) and Kernel
(PHKL) patches most often do require a reboot.

Look at your /var/adm/sw/swagent.log to see which patches were installed. Then
look at the individual patch text files to determine whether a reboot was
required.

Re: Y2k Core Patch Install

IF you are using the Y2K-1020S800.tar bundle, then no reboot is required for
those patches. However, there is at least on patch in the bundle which has
been superseded, and the superseding patch(es) have kernel and networking patch
dependencies, so these will require a reboot if said patches are not already
installed on your server.
