ZV5358EA WITH SCREEN PROBLEMS IN GENTOO
When trying to setup xorg on Gentoo Linux as soon as ive activated the nvidia driver the sreen goes black down one side i guess this is incorrect modlines. i have already asked HP tech support and i was sent an email saying we dont have the specs of the LCD, some tech support hey.

Perhaps try a different screen resolution and see if that helps.
I take it the hardware is not supported in your Linux distribution.
Check that you used the correct drivers.
Consider a distribution that supports your hardware out of the box, if possible.

Gentoo Linux usually supports all the latest drivers available. Be sure to have installed the latest kernel and xorg. Try modifying the maximum horizontal and vertical frequencies in /etc/X11/xorg.conf .
