I used to pronounce ssh, as S S H, i.e I pronounce every letter separately .. as we pronunce IP, SSL, SMTP.
but sometimes I have heard people pronouncing SSH as "SHEESH".
Please help me what is wrong/right ?
Regards

SolutionI'm of the individual-letter variety myself, but I tend to do that for most protocols without easily pronouncable words (unlike i-map and pop pop, s-m-t-p, s-q-l (although that's pronouced sequal)).

Re: a non techy question - how to pronounce SSH
I've never heard it pronounced like that Maaz.
Never.
Sometimes I call it Secure Shell because that is the name HP gives it when they ported it to HP-UX.
Just SSH to me.

Re: a non techy question - how to pronounce SSH
I've always used the individual letters S-S-H.
I've never head "SHEESH" being used anywhere...
Cheers,
Rob

Re: a non techy question - how to pronounce SSH
# man ssh --> OpenSSH SSH client (remote login program)
# man sshd --> OpenSSH SSH daemon
Thanks
