auditing FS 100% causes SAP user unable to logon via SAPGUI

i have enabled audsys on a 11.23 SAP app servers with the log going to a FS @ 1GB. Today, users are unable to login via SAPGUI when the FS goes 100% or so SAP folks claimed. But when the FS is cleaned up, the access issue disappear.
Anybody has this happening before?

Shalom,

Looks like a simple file space management issue.

The file system either needs to be expanded or managed so it never gets filled.

Hi Steven, my sentiments exactly. The size has been increased already.

My question is more on why FS 100% is affecting SAPGUI logon. I am more looking into the root cause and if there is anything that I can do to ensure that such logon will not be affected when any FS is 100%.

YOu need to check if the user home directories are placed on the FS which goes 100% or if their SAP profile is dependent on that FS.

Hi,

As Manikandan said, a filesystem 100% used means users cannot add new files or update/increase existing files.

You should do some housekeeping on that fs and always prevent your fs's from reaching this point.

Re: auditing FS 100% causes SAP user unable to logon via SAPGUI

Hi thanks all.
Just so all know, we also had 100% FS on another application (Peoplesoft) which was not affected. So I have to assume that SAPGUI needs some form of space to use.

Anyway, the oracle or SID homedirectory are located differently from the affected FS.

I will close this for now.
