*.bpd

Hello all,

anyone knows what are the *.bpd libraries?

I know there is a libjvm.so.bpd (from the JVM) under /usr/lib/hpux32/dpd but we are having some trouble acceding

/usr/lib/hpux32/dpd/libpam_unix.so.1.bpd
/usr/lib/hpux32/dpd/libxti.so.1.bpd

and I don't know were they came from

Any little explanation about .bpd will be welcomed

Re: *.bpd

bpd stands for Binary Patch Description. the HP-UX dynamic loader, while loading a libray, searches if that library has a .bpd file associated. It is searched in the directory /usr/lib/hpux[32|64]/dpd/. if such file exists, then the information contained in it is used to patch certain things in the library being loaded. the bpd files are shipped by the patch that ships the library.
