command 'tusc'

Hi,

Has anyone heard of the command tusc in relation to oracle databases. I have been asked to run this command but don't recognise it.

Re: command 'tusc'

Hi

tusc is a Unix tool you can trace system calls and so on, it's not especially for oracle, but useful to find problems

Re: command 'tusc'

tusc is a diagnostic tool for tracing the sysstem calls made by a process. It isn't installed on a standard system but you can download it from here:

Re: command 'tusc'

FWIW, tusc is up to revision 7.5, and typically, the latest revision can be found at ftp://ftp.cup.hp.com/dist/networking/tools/

Re: command 'tusc'

Real life example:

/sbin/cat /tmp/ign_configure/archive_nfs/tzfat.juf.net.gz | /usr/contrib/bin/gun
zip -c | /sbin/pax_iux -r -p e -v > images/pax.out 2>&1 &

ps returns this as process 372

images/tusc -o images/pax.trace -p 372 &

Change the names to protect innocent filesystems.
