How to connect 2 pc by using COM port? what skin of cable, sorfware?

You can connect two PC with cross-over cable. Software is not avaiable on windows 9x or 2k or xp so you have to buy some interlink software.
You can use kermit from Columbia University, if you know it.
I believe you spend more for comunication software than buy NIC cards. Why do you will use com port?

Hi there.
You have several chances to do it.
Connect through the COM ports with a so called NULLMODEM cable.
Connect through USB with a normal USB cable
with A connectors on both sides.
Connect with a crossover network cable.
If you have LapLink software, you can even connect through the parallel interface ( printer connector ).

Using LTP or COM are possible
LTP : pararrel data send and receive (printer cable- 25ping)
Com: serial data send and receive (9 female pin )
software: native Windown SW (new connection wizard)--see attached file.
