connecting same disks for 2 different server will work?

Hi,
I have E45 server with no internal dirves. It is connected to a disk station with 4 disk drives.
Out of that 4 disks only two are used currently. One is root disk (vg00) and other is data disk (vg01).
I want to mirror these two disks with rest of the two.

I have one standby server E55 with no internal drives in it. Currently no disk drives are connected to it.

If by any chance my E45 machine will go down,

My question is that if I disconnect the diskstation (4 disks) from server E45 and connect it to E55, will my server E55 boot?
Is there anything required to do in E55 to make it bootable ?

Hi Piyush,

It will work. Some points:

1) You have to set the boot disk path in E55.

2) If there was a system crash, then you need to run 'fsck' on file systems.

3) You need to make sure that both servers are connected to the same network ( through same switch/hub)

You have to make sure that the SCSI controller on which you are connecting the disk should be at the same position in both the Server. The only problem will occur if the Boot disk crashes. Then both the system will be down.
