system connected? (And what else is

Re: connecting to the internet
Hope the system is already connected to a network which can see your company proxy or ISP (through firewall), check whether you have firefox or mozilla installed:
swlist -l product|grep -Ei 'moz|fox'
which firefox
which mozilla
/opt/firefox/firefox
Otherwise, needs to provide more info. reg the system setup.

Re: connecting to the internet
If mozilla is installed then only thing needed is DNS ip in /etc/resolv.conf ,that should be enough for internet configuration.
Thanks,
Aneesh

Re: connecting to the internet
The net daemon needs to be running, which is undoubtedly running on your system.
What you need is to configure /etc/rc.config.d/netconf to have a valid and pingable gateway.
Then configure /etc/nsswtich.conf to use DNS for host name resolution, after files.
Then put your organizations DNS servers in /etc/resolv.conf
HP-UX has been internet ready for a very long time.
