Re: date

Edit /etc/TIMEZONE with TZ=MET -1METDST
export TZ.

Re: date

yep, like Vincenzo said, you'll need the DST (Daylight Saving Time) to switch automatically to winter- and summertime.

My timezone is (Belgium):
TZ=MET-1METDST

good luck,
Thierry.

Re: date

Actually the /etc/TIMEZONE file contains the following entries:
TZ=MET-1MEST
export TZ
Do i have to modify it as you wrote??

Re: date

Hi,

If you don't know try the next:

CDE:
1) cmd: dtterm
2) cmd: set_parms timezone
3) European timezone
4) Middle Europe time/Daylight

command line:1
1) cmd: telnet
2) cmd: set_parms timezone
3) cmd: 4
4) cmd: 4

Reboot system

Marcel

Ps. If you check the /etc/TIMEZONE afther those commands you can see that it is changed.

Re: date

I would suggest using set_parms timezone to savely set the correct timezone. Alternatively you could use set_parms initial to check all you settings.

For more details see the man pages of set_parms.

Hope this helps

Stefan

Re: date

Thanks all, but I know how to change time with set parms. I wanted just to know what was the entry for switching automatically from winter to summer date and vice versa. Because in all ws i set the time during the installation of hpux11, but some ws switched automatically, other not. So the problem was configuring the /etc/TIMEZONE file or to use set parms and it will automatically set the /etc/TIMEZONE file in the correct way.
Thanks all again.

Tarek
