/dev/async io
we just installed oracle 10g on an hpux 11.11 server. all went well except oracle keeps generating trace files complaining about "dev/async device doesnt exist".
we never used it previously, we just use standard vxfs filesystem with oracle sga. i thought this would already qualify as async. what is this /dev/async and what would be the consequences if we do use?
thx in advance
